About ICES

In 1976, the International Cake Exploration Societe was founded in Monroe, Michigan at the National EXPLO Cake Show sponsored by Betty Jo Steinman.


The Board of Directors and Executive Officers are elected by the membership at the annual ICES Cake Show and Convention which is held during the summer months.  Local representatives are elected or appointed to help spread the sharing and caring of cake decorating around the world.  Membership is over 3,500 worldwide.


Meetings, get togethers, and "Days of Sharing" are held throughout the year wherever members reside ...  United States, Canada, Australia, Guatemala, Philippines, Mexico, Japan, Malaysia, India, England, Bahamas, Peru, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Germany, Honduras, Hong Kong,  Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Venezuela, Nigeria, Ghana, Panama, Maldives, Brazil, Guam, Puerto Rico just to name a few.


Membership Categories:  Regular Membership vs. Associate

An associate member is one who either works for or resides with a Regular member.  Regular members receive both the ICES newsletter and the chapter newsletter; associate members do not.  Both regular and associate members have the right to vote in any ICES or chapter meetings or elections.  Associate members are entitled to discounted member rates for convention.

Annual Dues are as follows:

  • U.S. Regular Member - $60 per year or three years for $156
  • International Member - $75 per year
  • Charter Member - $20 per year
  • Associate Member - $25 per year
